Chapter 4: The Self and Interaction Role Conflict: experienced when we occupy two or more roles with contradictory expectations.
In Doctor Who, The Doctor always has a companion. Someone, usually a girl, to keep him company while he travels through time. The big thing with The Doctor is that he and his companion are always having conflicts. The companions are always humans, used to the life of a normal human and then they set off on an adventure with The Doctor through time and space. Well they are used to doing something that will be completely different from what The Doctor do and it will usually be something stupid or crazy or extreme. They are always arguing and its always right before they battle some kind of enemy. One popular companion was Donna Noble, one who conflict with The Doctor the most. The Doctor saved her on her wedding day when her soon husband was going to give her to the Empress of the Racnoss, where she was going to be feed to the Empress's offspring. Instead of Donna just being thankful she argued with The Doctor every step of her rescue. Shaping how their relationship was going to be in the future.

The Doctor is never one to follow the rules, always did things his way which was always a very weird way. Never was one to follow the norm, which made him more interesting to see how he gets out of a situation. He tends to disappear at a random moment and comes back with the best idea and saves the day, as one would say with a superhero. The Doctor and his companion Clara Oswald were in a situation where they going to be kill and their flesh was going to be taken and given to a robot that was trying to make himself into a human and The Doctor and Clare be turned into robots. The Doctor has Clara pretend to be a robot so she wouldn't be killed and he was doing the same until he suddenly changed the plan because a brilliant idea came into his mind. Then Clara touches her broach and says "Geronimo" and their two friends, Vastra and Jenny, show up and help them escape. Chapter 8: Race and Ethnicity as Lived Experience Race: (p. 217)- a socially defined category based on real or perceived biological difference between groups of people.
The Doctor is of his own race, Time Lords, people from the planet of Gallifrey. Gallifreyans look like normals humans do,they do many thinks that a normal human would do when they are babies they sleep in cribs like we do. However, Time Lords can live for hundreds of years, a baby could be ninety years old and a teenager could be two hundred, they live for every. They do eventually die but that comes after they regenerate, into either someone of the same sex or the other and looking completely different from before. Time Lords will become exhausted from regenerating so many time, the current Doctor has regenerated twelves times and when he regenerates he becomes a different person. When it was time for the 10th Doctor to regenerate he said "I don't want to go" because he was not ready to leave his life, that part of the Time Lord was going away. When a Time Lord dies you have to destroy the corpes immediately because someone could get ahold of their time stream and cause some really disastrous results.Which happened with a Time Lord called The Master, who was killed but was brought back, this caused some serious problems with The Doctor and the Gallifrey because The Master was not a good Time Lord. The Master wanted to destroy the world but was stopped by the 10th Doctor and Martha Jones. Time Lord can also find love like every other human, the 10th Doctor found love with Rose Tyler, who was his companion for a while, but they were separated and The Doctor had to leave her. The Doctor never forgot about Rose even with his years of life and all of the knowledge he has and neither did Rose. You could say they long for each other once again. They finally reunited when The Doctor was going to regenerate, but unfortunately she didn't remember him at this time though she spent years looking for him. The race of The Time Lords are greatly feared by many, especially the Daleks and Cyermen, they are their biggest rival. The Daleks and Cybermen are always the one The Doctor is associated with the most because they end up causes all the problems that The Doctor and his companions have to fix. Like any race Time Lords are discriminated against, all the enemies always say something about the Time Lords and who they are and what they do and their life.
Chapter 10: The Macro- Micro Link in Social Institutions
Simulacrum: An image or media representation that does not reflect reality in any meaningful way but is treated as real
In our reality there is no mention of time travel, at all. The Doctor is a time lord, who time travels what is everyday. Every person has a car or something that gets them from point A to point B, The Doctor has the Tardis. The Tardis, also known as TT Capsule, is a old police phone box that can travel through time. Like every persons car the Tradis has a name, Idris, who is a actually the consciousness of the Doctor's Wife. The part that does not reflect reality is that the Tardis is a phone box, small only used to make phone calls, but it has more rooms than a mansion that is built today. Every time The Doctor gets a new companion they walk inside the Tardis and then out and around trying to figure out how it is possible that the inside is so much bigger than it appears and ask so any many questions on how that is possible. The Tardis is past on to each Doctor after they regenerate, but it is never the same the Tardis changes inside and a little on the outside for each Doctor. On the door of the Tardis there is a sign that says "pull to open," though each time The Doctor goes into the Tardis he pushes the door.
